Summer School Revision Days

These revision classes not only give extra support to the children in terms of their subject knowledge but also allow them to share their experiences with their peers. Usually a good sense of camaraderie builds between them, as they realise that are not the only one spending some of their summer holiday revising. At this stage there is a fine line between keeping the revision going, losing confidence and becoming overly anxious about the test. Therefore, we have a mix of subject revision, test practice, individual support and most importantly group activities so that all the children have a chance to develop and consolidate their understanding in a less individualistic way.

Each of the three days will have a different revision focus and use unique practice papers so that the children can attend as many or few as they wish without duplication. The children will also get more out of the day if they come with an awareness of one or two things that they need to practise, revise or consolidate. At this stage they should not be expecting to learn new things, but to consolidate existing learning.

The children will also need: a packed lunch; a separate water bottle for use throughout the day: and a hat & sun cream if the weather is hot and sunny.
